Night Supervision provides overnight support and monitoring by either awake or asleep staff in the person’s own home, based on a documented need.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, the person must:
Live in their own home
Have an assessed overnight need in at least one of the following areas:
Implementation of positive support plans or transition strategies
Reinforcement of skill-building supports (e.g., Individualized Home Supports)
Help with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
Help with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs)
Covered Services
Overnight assistance provided by awake or asleep staff
Support must directly relate to the individual’s documented needs in the categories listed above
What’s Not Covered
Night Supervision does not cover:
Preventative safety measures for events that haven’t previously occurred
Support based on assumptions or undocumented needs
Services for individuals who sleep through the night without needing assistance
Payment for time when a caregiver (e.g., parent, responsible party, or staff) is asleep and lives in the same home
Services that duplicate other Minnesota state plan or waiver services
